Richard Farr

Richard B. Farr has been an educator for 33 years. After graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Education-Secondary Composite Science from Lamar University in 1987. He began his career at Lamar Junior High School in Lamar Consolidated ISD as a 7 & 8 grade science teacher and coach for 9 years. His Science Olympiad Team won State and went to Nationals 4 years in a row. He then moved to Orange, Texas where he worked as both a junior high science teacher and assistant principal at Little Cypress-Mauriceville ISD for 5 years. While there he received his Masters of Education in Administration from Prairie View A&M University in 1998. Following he moved to Katy ISD and worked 19 years as a grade-level principal and student support principal where he developed a strong background in the needs of special education students. He retired in 2020 and worked as an independent contractor for the petrochemical industry where he designed and built specialized equipment and chemical laboratories.

Richard has been married since 1988 and has 4 adult children, two of whom are on the autistic spectrum.  He has a passion to work with students and has been their advocate and coach.

Richard’s hobbies include woodworking, metal fabrication, welding, hotrod building, and machining. He has been the parent lead coach for the VEX robotics team for Cinco Ranch High School for 3 years.  He is thrilled to join Monarch as a professional educator.
