Vincent Cassata
Vincent Cassata is a native Houstonian and grew up in the village of Spring Valley. He attended Texas A & M University and University of Houston where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Minor in Business Administration. After graduation, he served in private industry and Houston's corporate community for over twelve years where he held several senior level management positions culminating with a director level position at Enron Global, Inc. in Human Resources Information Systems here in Houston, Tx.
With the eminent shutdown of Enron, he made the conscious decision to leave the “corporate world” and focus the remainder of his career in the field of education, realizing a long-held dream.
Vincent subsequently enrolled at the University of St. Thomas and received his Texas Teaching Certificate. He holds certifications in English as a Second Language education, Gifted and Talented education, Technology Applications Teacher, and a Master Technology Teacher certification and Special Education. He began teaching in HISD where he served for 12 years holding several positions including, a 3rd Grade Teacher, Intervention Specialist, Reading and Math Tutor, Technology Applications Teacher, Master Technology Teacher, Certified Curriculum Integration Technologist, Certified Educational Technologist, and a Technology Specialist.
Additionally, Vincent has held various positions across multiple systems at both the elementary and secondary levels including over four years directly in Special Education. Overall, he brings with him over 20 years of experience in the field of Education. Education has been his passion, and he continues to remain committed to being a lifelong learner himself and to teaching students while incorporating his unique background and experiences into educating the whole student to the best of his ability.
