Susan Flavin
Professional Educator, Chrysalis Program
Susan Flavin is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a BS in Education (Elementary K-9 Teaching and Special Education K-12). Susan holds certifications in Special Education, Learning Disabled and Social/Emotional Disorders. Originally from Joliet, Illinois, Susan’s fourteen years of teaching experience have been based in the Chicagoland area and in Houston, where she has lived since 1991. Susan has taught in both private and public schools and worked with children of all ages and diverse abilities.
Throughout her years of teaching Susan has also been actively involved with various outreach ministries and charities (i.e. Gabriel Project Ministry, Memorial High School, University of St. Thomas, St. Cecilia School etc.). She has been married to her husband Bob for 37 years, and has raised 5 children -- four daughters and one son, all of whom live in the Houston area.
Susan is very excited to be joining The Monarch School and Institute’s team. She looks forward to working closely with the students, their families, the Monarch staff and administration. Susan strongly believes that every student must be given the opportunity to reach his or her full potential, and would like to be instrumental in helping them achieve their goals.
Outside the classroom, Susan enjoys hanging out with her family, reading, traveling, recycling and running.
