Building and nurturing friendships can be a challenging yet crucial aspect of development for children with autism and communication disorders. Many of our learners find it difficult to form relationships beyond their immediate family. They often struggle to connect with peers and find meaningful interactions in the community. However, by focusing on five essential components, we can support our learner in making and maintaining lasting connections. This parent session will guide parents through 5 components and provide practical strategies for facilitating friendships at home, at school, and within the community.
