Monkey’s Tail, will host “Autism Awareness Fest,” on Saturday, April 29. The fun-packed event will serve as a finale to the month-long fundraiser benefiting The Monarch School & Institute, in honor of Autism Awareness Month, which kicks off on April 1st.
The event will include entertainment by DJSun and friends from noon - 9 p.m. as well as tequila tastings, raffles, shopping, churros by Chef Daniel Leal, coffee by Tenfold Coffee, and of course, great cocktails.
Guests of the fest will be invited to donate at the door, and there are a number of opportunities to donate in support of The Monarch School. The specialty cocktail, Ozzy’s Swimming Pool is a Frozen Piña made with Wodka Vodka, Plantation Rum, and Giffard Blue Curacao, coco cream and pineapple. Its bright blue color reflects the designated color for Autism Awareness. 100% of Swimming Pool sales during the event and $2 from each one sold throughout the rest of the month will benefit the school. Sponsor, Maverick Distribution, will be donating rare and premium tequilas for tastings, and all ticket sales from the tastings will go directly to the school. Those who prefer their philanthropy with some hops can opt for local brews from Eureka Heights and Saint Arnold, and 100% of the sales on April 29th will be donated to the school. Guests can also dedicate themselves to the cause “sin alcohol.” A portion of the sales from Tenfold Coffee will be donated to the cause, which will be sold alongside the churro stand, whose proceeds will be donated entirely to the school.
In addition, The Monarch School will be on site from 12-5pm, offering more information about the incredible programs, and adult learners with the Transition Services Program will be selling items from The Monarch Wings Store, which is a student operated, entrepreneurial experience for adult learners that allows them to translate academic learning into meaningful, functional skills, develop an understanding of operating a business.
