Why did I come to Monarch? I have been involved with Crossroads School for the past fifteen years, first as a parent of a student attending, then as a volunteer. Eventually, I joined the board and finally stepped in as Acting Head of School. I did all this because I understand how important and life-changing it can be for a family with a child with Learning Differences to have the right school to guide and educate. My son has autism and has been fortunate enough to have special education services since before he was two years old. He now has a BA in Communications from Schreiner University that he earned in four years. That great achievement would not have been conceivable when he was younger.
The Monarch School provides the kind of diverse educational learning possibilities that open doors for students to grow into functioning, productive members of society. It enhances the quality of life for students and their families. I have joined the board of The Monarch School because I believe deeply in the importance of a quality education for all learners. I am proud to combine Crossroads students, staff, and resources to The Monarch School.
