Texas' Only Certified
DIR® Therapist is at
Monarch!
My DIR journey started in July 2002
when I began working with a 5-year-old boy whom I will refer to as
“Sam”. Sam and his family were working with both
Stanley Greenspan, M.D. and Serena Wieder, Ph.D, the developers of
the DIR® Model and had just moved to
Houston to attend a private school
here. They were looking for a therapist to do
Floortime™ with their son. The caregiver they
hired knew me and told them that I “got down on the floor and played
with children.” Read the rest of Sharon’s story by clicking

Partaking in Their
Pajamas
In support of parents attending Monarch’s
Miracle Makers' Morning Breakfast, students came early to school at
7:00
am in their
pajamas to share breakfast with their teachers. This made the
transition from home to school a little smoother and as the picture
attests, very enjoyable. For more

Moving on
Up!
Thanks to the M.D. Matthews Foundation for a
tremendous $1,000,000 challenge grant to help build our new campus!
The “two for one” grant challenged us to raise an additional
$500,000 before it could be funded.
Mr.
John M. O’Quinn and the Trustees of the John M. O’Quinn Foundation
recently helped Monarch secure the $1,000,000 donation by presenting
Dr. Webb and honorary co-chair of the campaign, Kathy Cullen McCord,
with a $300,000 check.
