STUDENT PORTRAITS

Kayla is a delightful 7 year old who doesn't see how the parts of her world visually relate together. Her verbal skills are good, but she can't use them to form a sequential plan to get from place to place. She has difficulty organizing her visual perceptions to draw even a simple picture.

Carlos is an 10th grader who attends private school. He is artistically gifted and has an above average IQ. Brian has great difficulty setting goals and staying organized. He completes his homework, but leaves it in his locker. He procrastinates and overlooks other important details that are essential for success.

Alex is eager to make friends but is overly stimulated and confused by interactions with other children. His inappropriate behavior results in increased isolation and poor academic achievement.

George is anxious when he has to learn something new. His fear leads him to engage in verbal struggles. He likes for things to stay the same and has never developed his natural curiosity. George needs lots of reassurance when new things are introduced. He needs to learn the joy of making his universe even bigger.
